1st Grade
By the end of first grade at East Hardin, we have established a foundation and readiness in our students as we collaborate with them for success. We will reinforce the foundation they learned in Kindergarten and begin challenging them with more advanced material while introducing new skills and development. We will incorporate Science and Social Studies into our Reading curriculum with interactive hands-on activities.
The Fundamentals at East Hardin
Your first grader will begin mastering the fundamentals of literacy and mathematics. These include the building blocks of reading and writing as well as more complicated addition and subtraction skills. The challenges will progress throughout the year as we prepare them for second grade.
Building the Foundation
We keep first grade at East Hardin fun with themed units, visits from community service workers, and field trips. Building the foundations for upper-grade learning in Reading and Math with real-life experiences is our primary focus in first grade.
